i was browsing through stuff on jw.org recently and ran across some expressions that really grate on my nerves: loyal love, loving-care, and loving-kindness, as in: "please exercise loving-kindness toward your servant.
" who talks like that?
they must be relics of the fred franz era.

During the WT Study "Have I missed any hands?" Are there any new hands?
Blood guilty™

Very soon™
Rapidly approaching™
Sooner than we think™
Last days of the last days™
I guess I better not buy any green bananas.
My favorite one of all times is from 52 years ago. "The end is so close™ that you won't finish high school." I would like to tell those two elders that I finished high school, my children finished high school and several of my great grandchildren finished high school. The only problem is the two elders died of old age. I am sure if they were alive they would say, "Yes, but just think how much closer we are now."

Receive Jehovah's blessing.
Shepherding visit.
Get my hours in.
The end of this system of things.
(After someone dies who wasn't a JW) Well, at least now he will be resurrected.
Our spiritual paradise.
(after a meeting) Tell your wife we missed her or is your wife sick?
Let's go in service together.
Jehovah will bless your efforts.
i've seen it mentioned by a few on the forum that at some point there was a realization that had they not been born a jw, they never would've converted no matter how many times the jws tried to study with them.
this was my experience too, and i'm wondering how universal it is for those that were born-in but eventually left.
i think i started having this thought (more specifically that if i were not born a jw, i would surely have become an atheist by now) in my late teens.
i carried out my monthly "cover" visit to the k.h.
tonight.
as previously discussed on this forum, the clam meeting is just a rehashed, recycled, reshuffled, & rebranded ministry school and service meeting.
hello and thanks to everyone for participating on this forum it has really been of much value, for those of you that post here know that your words are not lost you never know who is reading your expressions, lives are being changed and nonsense challenged.
i’m not much of a writer so excuse my untrained writing style and grammar but i want to share my story to help anyone who is visiting here to see that we are real people, fathers, mothers, sons and daughters who have come here for answers, there is no agenda, just searching for truth.
i hope my story will help others as so many here have helped me..
we are nearing the end of the journey.......so this next two chapters will be called "odds and ends" or things i didn't put in the right chapters..........because i thought of them after those chapters were written..... .
bethel joke.
three guys are sitting around, each drinking a large glass of beer.........a publisher, a pioneer and a bethelite.......just then, a fly lands in all three of their glasses of beer........the publisher....pushes the glass away and says....."i can't drink this now"...........the pioneer looks over, and picks the fly out of the beer and keeps on drinking............the bethelite.........picks up the fly by its wings and holds its head over the glass and says "spit it out......spit it out!
well it is 4:00 a.m. in the morning and i can't sleep, so might has well write..
everything at bethel is seniority........"how long have you been here?
